The Village Stompers 는 미국의 Joe Sherman에 의해 "Washington Square"곡이 공전의 히트를 친
1963년에 창설된 "Folk-Dixie" 를 연주하는 악단이다.
또한 The Village Stompers 는 뉴욕의 그리니치 빌리지에서 유래된 이름으로
그들의 연주는 "포크와 딕쉬"를 재즈연주와 결합하였고 1963년에 그들의 히트곡 "Washington Square" "Turkish Delight"은
빌보드 2위, Adult Contemporary Charts에서 1위 그해 10월엔 Australian 차트 1위등... 선풍적인기를 누렸슴.
